The Pants of Theseus is a pair of pants I've had for a long time, having started them in college around 2021/2022. Originally I couldn't decide if I wanted to make Bondage, Painted, or Patched pants so I combined all three. One leg was patched up, another painted, and both had straps. Now adays the patches have spread to both legs and I don't wear straps on them often. The goal with The Pants of Theseus is to keep them as one pair of pants...forever. So everytime I get a hole or something, I just patch it up. If the pants get too tight I expand them. (I've had to do this twice already.) Some of my best custom patches are on this pair of pants, with the Caffienated Spider one on the backside being one I used multiple stencils for. It's barely hanging on though, and I've tried to preserve it with modpodge and yeah it made it last longer but I can't imagine it lasting too much longer. I'm also pretty proud of that VIAL patch. That was a lot of work. I mostly bust these out in wintertime or at sometimes for Riot Fest depending on how I'm feeling. They get REALLY hot and sometimes it just helps to have pants on if a mosh pit has turned to mud. I featured the pants in my zine, Ragged. I really would just put whatever shit on there. There's a record on it that I had molded to my leg to see if it would work as armor for a mosh pit. (The record was already unplayable and did not last long.) I've had lots of people call them crust pants, but I really consider them to be more like just generic patch pants. I don't really have any crust bands on them and I suppose that could change, but I'm not heavily working on them atm. When the season is right, I will maybe.
