Kermard Way
Kermard Way is a heavily modified cheapo Kermit puppet I found online. His hair is a wig for dogs that is sewn on to him. His mesh undershirt is made from sleeves I cut off a mesh top I have (but don't like the sleeves) and it has a shoelace woven into it to act as a drawstring, fitting the "shirt" around his neck and tying in the back, hidden by his jacket. His jacket is my first real attempt at making any sort of clothes for puppets. I started with a paper prototype, to get the pattern I needed before cutting it out of the fabric I had on hand. It's comprised of two pieces to hide the seams on the inside and is safety pinned in the back to his neck to keep the collar from sliding down as it is a little big on him. Buttons came from what I had on hand. The fabric for his tie (which is sewn onto his mesh top) came from an old red shirt. All of his make up was just done with various Sharpies. His piercings (one of which was lost in the pit at King Gizzard) came from just some cheap jewelry I got at the start of my transition but don't really wear. He wears them better than I ever could anyways.

I got the idea for Kermard while in the car ride to GenCon 2025 and knew I had to make him a reality. Once I got home I got to work, and finished him in ONE NIGHT, right before we were to see King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard in Rivinia. So he got to go for a test run there and met lots of cool people, got to mosh, and found love with an alligator puppet. He's looking forward to seeing MCR in just a few weeks.

I can't do anything close to a Kermit voice, so my girlfriend takes the wheel with him. However when moshing is involved, we do trade off. I also plan to take him to Riot Fest this year, and maybe a couple other just small punk venues for shits and giggles. I'd love to take him to a black metal show.
